Revival of the Blog (hopefully)

Sorry for the hiatus. The move to Texas has taken up a lot of my free time as well as the Holidays. I will be continuing the 52 Week Photo Challenge soon. As well as some other photo projects that I plan on sharing. Looking forward to sharing with you guys, and I hope you enjoy my blog.

Oh, and here's a cute family photo for you guys.

July 4th fireworks at Memorial Park

So, I decided to go to Memorial Park with my family for the 4th to shoot some fireworks, and hang with some fellow photographers. Simon at Colorado Photography School hosted a tent for us with food and drinks and helped give some pointers for shooting fireworks.  It was an awesome time, but I feel bad that a fellow photog had his tripod stolen. It goes to show that even in a big group you need to be mindful of people and pay attention. The show was amazing and I think I got some good shots, I feel that these are way better than my Hawaii ones (for those of that have seen them, I think I'll post one for reference) But here are my photos, I hope you enjoy.

52 Week Photo Challenge | Week 8, 9, 10

I need to start this post by saying sorry for the hiatus, I had some personal and technical stuff going on. So here are my photos for the past few weeks to help me catch up.

So here is the first one for Week 8: One Shot. To be honest I did take more than one shot, but this was the first shot that I took. I loved these P.O Boxes that my Sis-In-Law showed me in downtown Fort Worth, TX. The post office was really stunning, there was alot of ornate carvings in different mediums.

     Week 9: Still Life

Here is week 9: Still Life, I went with a bowl full of marbles. I thought the colors would look great and I think they do.

     Week 10: Perspective

Here's the final one I'm gonna do for this week. So this one is for week 9: Perspective, This is another shot from that Post Office of the ceiling, I thought it would be cool to take it from this angle.

So here is the shots for the first 3 weeks I missed. I will post the last 3 weeks I missed next week to get me caught up. Hope you guys enjoyed these photos.

52 Week Photo Challenge | Week 5

For the Ten Shots Challenge, I decided to do a self portrait. The only thing I changed, was the lighting, between the shots while trying to do the same pose for each. These were all shot in front of a white background using just one to three studio strobes. I tried to get the background to go black in one of the shots, but it would've ate up all ten shots to achieve that look. So, I decided to scrape that idea and just keep playing with the lights.

So, here all ten images I took:

For the most part I'm happy with these. I just wish I would've taken the time to fix my hair and actually edit. I basically just took these straight from camera with slight tweeks in Lightroom.

But now, it's on to the next challenge, which is; Candy. Seems easy, but it says I have to take a photo of candy without actually using candy, huh, that seems hard.

Well I look forward to hearing from you guys, so now it's on to the next one.
